Sunday, July 12
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
at the intersection with Centerline Road
Summer is nearly here, cabin-country human traffic is up, and as that occurs, animals head to the more remote areas of the landscape to avoid some of the hustle and bustle. Facilitator surveys have found that some of our more remote sites activity that had a bit of a downturn in spring has ticked back up in recent weeks, so we are taking the Tracking Club back up to the Mississippi Headwaters State Forest for July. This is about 15 miles west of Bemidji. This was the site of the first, and so far only, CyberTracker Certification run in northern Minnesota. You can see some of the questions from that Certification here on iNaturalist.
We will meet at the road head at 10 AM, then likely carpool down the road past active logging where the ideal tracking conditions are.
If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call or text Robert's cell at 612-708-4754. Note that cell reception can be spotty.
