We are now accepting applications for our fall Track & Sign Certification with Dave Scott.
October 3-4, 2026
Evaluator Dave Scott
Twin Cities Metro Area
Tuition: $350
Early Application Deadline: April 15
The Minnesota Wildlife Tracking Project is delighted to welcome CyberTracker Evaluator Dave Scott to the Twin Cities to lead a Track & Sign Certification the weekend of October 3-4. One of Dave's greatest joys is sharing tracking and watching his students grow into skilled trackers, and this is directly reflected in his open, humble, relaxed approach. You can expect a weekend of kind, warm-hearted instruction, joyful learning, and Texas-sized belly laughs. This two day program will take place at one or more locations in and around the Twin Cities Metro Area and will run from approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday.
To apply for the October 2026 certification, please fill out this form.
We will be reviewing applicants and sending confirmations by April 15.
We continued to review applications on a rolling basis after April 15 until the certification has filled.
We select applicants whose participation we believe will advance the Minnesota Wildlife Tracking Project's mission to promote the art and science of wildlife tracking, especially here in Minnesota and the surrounding region. We are particularly interested in offering certification opportunities to people actively involved in wildlife research or education. We give priority to active members of the Minnesota Wildlife Tracking Project as well as to those who have not participated in a CyberTracker certification previously or recently. If you are not familiar with CyberTracker certifications, we encourage you to read this description and this FAQ on the Tracker Certification North America website.
We encourage those who are newer to wildlife tracking or are curious about the certification process to participate in one of our club's Practice Assessments. These two-day long, CyberTracker style, "mock evaluations" offer low-cost, low-pressure opportunities for participants to get a taste of a CyberTracker certification, practice for a future certification, and get feedback on their progress in track and sign interpretation. Our next Practice Assessment is scheduled for March 28-29. Get details here.
