Sunday, November 1st
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The temperatures have finally turned autumnal, and days are growing shorter. In the world of white-tailed deer, this is prime mating season: bucks are sporting their finest antlers and leaving clear evidence of their presence as they actively seek does. The rut offers fresh seasonal sign as fragrant as a pumpkin spice latte and as ephemeral as a Tinder profile. What better way to celebrate fall than to find and follow some fresh deer trails?
Join the Minnesota Wildlife Tracking Project at Lebanon Hills Regional Park to find evidence of the private lives of these adaptable, curious, and prolific ungulates on our local landscape.
Tracking club will happen rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and walking through brush.
We will gather at 9 AM by the Visitor Center. After a short introduction, we will split into smaller groups and head into the field. We'll return to the Visitor Center before wrapping up around 12 PM. You are invited to stick around until 1 PM to continue to explore animal activity in the area.
If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Kirsten's cell at 651-785-4650.
