9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center
Fort Snelling State Trail, St Paul, MN 55111
As we move into the full swing of spring in Minnesota, the landscape has completely shifted from its bare April appearance. The trees have leafed out, and nettles and forbs are greening the forest floor. Turtles have begun basking at local ponds, and garter snakes have emerged from their winter hibernacula. Migratory birds have returned, with a mighty dawn chorus each morning. And many of the residents of Fort Snelling are welcoming their young of this year.
Come join us at Fort Snelling State Park, and let's see who's new and moving on the land this month.
We will gather at 9 AM in front of the visitor center. After a short introduction, we will split into smaller groups and head into the field, and then return to the visitor center before wrapping up before 1 PM.
If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Kirsten's cell at 651-785-4650. Note that cell reception can be spotty in the park.
