Sunday, March 15
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center
Fort Snelling State Trail, St Paul, MN 55111
It's late winter in Minnesota — as this coming weekends snow and deep chill remind us. It's a time of transitions and challenges for many animals. Young beavers are dispersing before the arrival of new kits; otters are giving birth and mating; red squirrels are tapping maple trees; and deer continue to feed on twigs as they await fresh greenery to emerge. So don your winter boots one more time and come join us at Ft. Snelling State Park as we see how the critters are coping.
We will gather at 9 AM in front of the visitor center. After a short introduction, we will split into smaller groups and head into the field, and then return to the visitor center before wrapping up before 1 PM.
If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Jon's cell at 612-388-4700. Note that cell reception can be spotty in the park.
