Come join us to explore winter mysteries along the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes!
Sunday, February 15
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Wargo Nature Center
7701 Main St, Lino Lakes, MN 55038
As we warm from the deep freeze of January, come out to explore the winter mysteries around Wargo Nature Center. Located along Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park Reserve, this gem of the Anoka County Parks system has offered us gorgeous deer beds and trails, coyote tracks criss-crossing the frozen lakes, and even the trail of a fisher. Join us to discover the incredible variety of wildlife in this North Metro park, and contribute your own observations to the Rice Creek Biodiversity iNaturalist project.
We will gather at 9:00 at Wargo Nature Center. After a short introduction, we will head out on the trail, and will return to the Nature Center to share stories before wrapping up by 1 PM. This is an all-weather event. Please bring appropriate footwear and dress for several hours outdoors in whatever weather we have that day. If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Eric's cell at 763-498-1323. Note that reception can be spotty in the park.
