Tracking Excursion to Crex Meadows

Please join us for a special opportunity to explore one our areas wildlife jewels--Crex Meadows Wildlife Area. Sunday, January 25

9:00am - 12:00pm (see below)

We will gather at the Crex Meadows Visitor Center:

Local Wisconsin DNR Conservation Educator, Kristi Pupak, will guide us to prime tracking sites within the 30,000 acres of the wildlife area. We will have opportunities to see tracks of many mammals, many of which are not found near the metro area including Wolf, Black Bear and Fisher. RSVP required to attend this event.

Please meet at the Crex Meadows Visitor Center before 9:00am. We will leave as a group promptly at 9am to maximize our time in the field. The guided tour will end around noon. Some may choose to explore the area on their own afterwards. Plan on bringing your lunch and snacks for the field, and suitable cold weather clothing and boots. Binoculars, notepad and pencil, ruler or tape measure recommended as usual.

Drive time from Minneapolis or St. Paul metro is approximately 1½ to 2 hours. Those who wish to carpool may contact event organizer Donnie Phyillaier to coordinate a ride.
