Come join us for a Bird Language presentation at the Twin Cities Urban Birding Festival

Saturday, May 21

1:00 - 2:00

Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center Auditorium

3815 American Blvd E

Bloomington, MN 55425

The Twin Cities Urban Birding Festival is an opportunity for novice birders and experienced birders alike to explore and learn! Festival activities are held at a variety of locations across the metropolitan area from Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 22, 2016. The Refuge Visitor Center is hosting events all day long, beginning with family birding activities at 9:00am and concluding with a guided bird hike at 5:00pm. Check out all the activities Here on the Refuge's Event Page.

At 1:00, Jonathan Poppele will give a presentation on Bird Language.

Birds are the alarm system of the forest, broadcasting the whereabouts of hawks, owls, foxes and more through their calls and postures. Learning bird language allows us to see more wildlife and feel more connected to the natural world.

This presentation will give you the fundamental tools for interpreting bird language to enhance your own birding and nature experiences, plus information about local bird language programs and gatherings.
