June Trailing Prctice

June Trailing Practice at Reservoir Woods

Sunday, Jun 5

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Reservoir Woods Trailhead

1901 Alta Vista Dr, Roseville, MN 55113

As we move into early summer, bucks are sporting velveted antler growths. Bachelor bands are roaming about, feeding on fresh greens. And, the newest herd members may be bedded down in the growing grasses. Who might we find? And, where are the deer moving as the weather warms, and vegetation becomes lush and plentiful?

Come join us as we practice finding and following fresh deer trails to see our local ungulates in Reservoir Woods, a 115 acre urban park of hardwood, pines, wetlands, prairie and savanna. Should the deer decline to provide a fresh trail, we'll practice following one another through the spring leaves.

This is an all-weather event and we spend time off trail. Please bring appropriate gear, and dress for several hours outdoors in whatever weather we may have that day.

We will meet at 9:00 in the parking lot. We will share a practice invitation, divide into small groups, and head out to follow trails shortly after 9:00. Groups will return to the parking lot by 11:30 am to share the stories of their trails, and map the animals moving on the land.

If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Kirsten's cell: 651-785-4650. However, Kirsten will silence her phone before we head into the field.
