Come join us for Tracking Club at Grey Cloud Dunes Scientific and Natural Area

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Grey Cloud Dunes SNA (South Entrance)
110th St S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016 (44.790046, -92.955076)
During the March Tracker Tuesday program, Casey McFarland explored the subject of deer bedding behavior, and invited us to practice locating deer beds on the landscape. You can watch the full program here. This month, we will take up his challenge at Grey Cloud Dunes Scientific and Natural Area in the southeast Metro. We will spend the morning looking for deer beds and analyzing bedding behavior. As Nate Harvey discusses in his Tracker Conference presentation The Doe in My Sights: The Hot Trail Part 3, understanding bedding behavior is important for building skill in following fresh deer trails.
To support us in our practice, the Certified Wildlife Tracker Association has again created a CyberTracker Mobile sequence to guide us. If you are interested in exploring the CyberTracker software, download the app for Android or iPhone, then install the CWTA sequence using this link or by scanning this QR code:
We will gather at 9:00 in the South Entrance parking lot off 110th St S in Cottage Grove. We will head out on the trail after a short introduction. We will wrap up by 1:00 PM. This is an all-weather event. Please bring appropriate footwear and dress for several hours outdoors in whatever weather we have that day. If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Jon's cell at 612-388-4700
