Come join us on Tracking Club at Fort Snelling State Park
Sunday, September 21
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center
Fort Snelling State Trail, St Paul, MN 55111
With the late floods and recent dearth of rain, our favorite mud flats at Fort Snelling are alive with the trails of the critters who call this place home. Raccoons ramble along the pathways between beaver-clipped willows, mixed in with the occasional otter romping through en route to the Minnesota River. Opossum families meander through the low growth at the mud's edge. Deer trek across the silt, occasionally sinking in past their dewclaws, while blue and green herons stalk along the saturated shores.
Join us to delight in this diversity. We'll roam across Otter Point and Eagle's Landing, revelling in the wild rumpus at the heart of the Twin Cities.
We will gather at 9:00 in the parking lot near the Visitor Center. We will head out on the trail after a short introduction, and return to the Visitor Center before wrapping up at 1 PM. If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Kirsten's cell at 651-785-4650.
