March Tracking Club:Â What Are The Deer Eating?
Come join us for as we take on the latest Tracker Tuesday challenge together
Sunday, March 16
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Mississippi Gateway Regional Park
10360 W River Rd, Brooklyn Park, MN 55444
At the January online Tracker Tuesday hosted by Tracker Certification, CyberTracker Evaluator Matt Nelson offered us an invitation to help deepen our tracking practice--find ten foods the deer are eating right now. You can watch the full program here. For our March Tracking Club, we will take up Matt's suggestion and hunt for deer browse at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park. We will challenge ourselves to locate browse sign, determine if it is fresh, and identify the plants the deer are feeding on. To support this exercise, the Certified Wildlife Trackers Association (CWTA) created a CyberTracker Mobile data collection sequence. If you are interested in exploring the CyberTracker software, download the app for Android or iPhone, then install the CWTA sequence using this link or by scanning this QR code:
We will gather at 9:00 in the parking lot near the Visitor Center. We will head out on the trail after a short introduction, and return to the Visitor Center before wrapping up by1 PM. If you need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Jon's cell at 612-388-4700.
