Please join us for a special Bird Language gathering as part of the Audubon Society's Urban Birding Festival of the Twin Cities! Sunday, June 7

9:00 - 2:00

Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center

3815 American Blvd E

Bloomington, MN 55425

The Urban Birding Festival of the Twin Cities is Audubon Minnesota's celebration of birds and birding in and around the metro area. This year's festival includes events and activities at a dozen locations, including the Refuge. You can see a full list of events at www.urbanbirdingfestival.org.

On Sunday, come spend the day exploring the dynamic interconnections of nature through learning bird language. Birds are the ''alarm system'' of the forest, broadcasting the whereabouts of hawks, owls, foxes and more through their calls and postures. You will be introduced to this dynamic world through a combination of engaging presentations and guided field experience. The program will include: Understanding the five voices of the birds; Interpreting the building blocks of bird language; Engaging the senses in nature; Key species for learning bird language; And more!

Our team of experienced nature connection leaders will provide instruction and insight into the power of bird language as a doorway into deep nature connection. In just a few hours, you will gain the core tools for interpreting bird language that you can use to enhance your own birding experiences.

What should I bring?
