Tracking Event: Deep Snow & Deep Awareness at Ft. Snelling

posted Mar 7, 2014, 9:39 AM by Jonathan Poppele
Marty Miller and Jonathan Poppele invite you to join us for our next Tracking Excursion at Ft. Snelling State Park:

Saturday, March 15
9:00am - 12:00pm

We will gather at the Ft. Snelling State Park visitor center:

Ft. Snelling State Park
101 Snelling Lake Rd
West St Paul, MN 55111

We will likely have deep snow cover for this event as we had last time. So, if you own snowshoes, please bring them to help negotiate the drifts and trails around Pike Island. You can also rent snowshoes at the main park office (first set of buildings as you enter the park, not Visitor Center). Rentals are $6 for all day on a first come, first served basis. Office opens at 8 am. We will meet in the fireplace room at the Visitor Center as before.

You are invited to bring a bag lunch and beverage as we will have an opportunity to regroup before sharing our stories and insights from the morning's sessions. This is an all-weather event. Be prepared for several hours outdoors.

We will gather at 9:00 in the fireplace room in the Visitor Center. We will head out on the trail about 9:20. If need to reach us the day of the outing, please call Jon's cell phone at 612-388-4700.

Note that you need a State Park pass to drive to the Visitor Center, but you can park for free at the Historic Fort Snelling visitor center. It is about a half-mile walk past the historic fort and down the hill to get to the State Park visitor center. The Historic Fort parking is located at 200 Tower Ave, St Paul, MN 55111

RSVPs are encouraged, but not required.
